In this role as a Demand Planner located in Solana Beach, CA, you will lead with us as you manage the long-term and short-term forecasting process for major brands within the Kellogg portfolio. Reporting to the Director Integrated Business Planning for our Natural & Insurgent Category you will engage with us as you serve as a liaison between cross-functional business partners to ensure that all forecasts are accurate and necessary inputs gathered. You will ensure successful forethought in forecasting and an owner’s mindset to drive results.
HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Expert Forecasting – You’ll be the expert in forecasting by creating, developing, and producing demand forecasts through reviewing historical sales trends and marketing, sales, and financial forecasts; preparing forecast data; and evaluating forecast results. You’ll ensure that forecasts follow established forecasting principles and are maintained in the system. You’ll have an in-depth understanding of statistical forecasting models and variables.
Collaborate and Partner – Teamwork will be key in this role. You’ll work hand in hand with Supply Chain providing updates and analysis to provide updates to continuously improve. You’ll work with sales, marketing, finance, and purchasing to ensure accurate current and long-term forecasting. You will present and make suggestions to other cross-functional teams in terms of demand and forecasts for the categories you support. You’ll also partner with Supply Planners to help provide them with direction.
Analyze and Measure – You will be analyzing internal demand stream information, categorizing according to demand patterns along with imputing sales and marketing intelligence into forecast systems. You’ll prepare and present various analyses of forecasting to business leaders. You will have an in-depth understanding of consumption and shipment trends so that you can lead a monthly consensus process for the N&I category.
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
Experience within logistics, demand planning/forecasting, supply planning, or supply chain-related areas
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (IT, Finance, Supply Chain, Statistics) or equivalent training and experience
Understanding of the supply/demand planning business drivers, organization structures, and key metrics
Belief in the power of food to make a positive change in people and the world around us
Entrepreneurial spirit, humility, a servant mindset, and a passion for winning
Detailed understanding of the objectives of the advanced forecasting and planning functions
High proficiency working with SAP or similar database application technology required. Excellent proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Access or similar software.
Strong presentation and influencing skills are necessary for communication with Company leadership regarding business.
Very strong communication skills are essential, and expertise in Microsoft Excel and data manipulation are also critical.
Strong Experience with integrating activities across departments
Kellogg’s experience and or trade promotions experience
Prior experience with BW reporting APO / SNP, CRM, or other SAP applications
Intrinsic enthusiasm for natural foods, natural/organic lifestyle, and nutrition
