Kellogg Senior Sanitarian Program Manager in Omaha, Nebraska

As the Senior Sanitarian Program Manager in our Omaha Plant you’ll drive the daily core sanitation activities while leading a team of hourly and salaried individuals. With an uncommonly good eye, you'll monitor bacteria strains and environmental factors, as the cleanliness of our facility is a number one priority. Having a working knowledge of HACCP and SQF standards will be critical for your success. Your extensive knowledge of industry standards, and knowing what it takes to produce quality results, will be key ingredients in your recipe to success.

  • People Management – You will leading a team of leaders and associates that will have responsibilities around sanitation in a 24/7 operation. We want you to use your people leadership and influential skills to develop, inspire, and energize your team towards a high standard of performance and self-accountability.

  • Analytical Yet Experienced – As a seasoned professional you’ll evaluate facility sanitary conditions, assessing risk based on food safety and public health principles, prioritizing corrective actions, and verifying sanitation activities and validation testing. Up for the challenge?

  • Overall Direction – Like being the go-to resource? Great. As the Sanitation Manager you’ll be setting the overall direction of plant sanitations programs. While working with local, state and federal regulations, our plants sanitation success is in your hands. Always washed hands, that is.

  • Setting the Budget – the monthly management of the sanitation budget is important, that’s where you come in. Managing the dollars that go into sanitation activities along with any contracted programs will be in your wheelhouse.

    YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

    A successful candidate must be able to execute the following activities:

    Required:

  • High School Diploma and extensive experience in plant quality/food safety/sanitation

  • Frequently demonstrated experience in sanitation and food safety

  • Knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of HACCP and/or SQF standards

  • Plan, organize, control and evaluate all activities related to sanitation

  • Develop and maintain the master sanitation schedule, cleaning procedures

  • Create, follow and enforce programs and procedures

  • Evaluate sanitary conditions and prioritize corrective actions

  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment

  • Interact daily with Quality Assurance and Production on sanitation activities and performance.

  • Manage PCO relationship and follow up on Corrective Actions. Audit PCO monthly for accuracy in reporting

  • Verify pre-operational inspections and ATP swabbing, and maintain documentation and corrective action measures pertaining to any failures for both are completed

  • Perform food safety inspections and assist with 3rd -party audits, regulatory inspections, and corporate audits, and lead any sanitation-related audits

  • Lead the recording and documentation of: Sanitation department training, Internal Audit, Post-operational inspections, ATP results, sanitation chemical titrations, daily sanitation operation sheets, master sanitation schedule, and others as required

  • Manage a sanitation equipment, supplies, and labor budget along with implementing ideas to help improve cost or performance

  • All other duties assigned by your manager

    Bonus Points:

  • Bachelor’s degree and experience in plant quality/food safety/sanitation or MS degree in food science

  • SAP experience

  • HACCP and/or SQF certifications

  • Pest Control certification(s) and monitoring experience
