Kellogg Maintenance Mechanic in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Do you have a drive for wrenching on mechanical equipment? Join us at our Grand Rapids Bakery as a 2nd shift Maintenance Mechanic where we make millions of Pop-Tarts every day. You will be partnering with Operations, Quality Food Safety, Environmental Health and Safety personnel as a key collaborator solving problems on all things mechanical. You will be working with a fun, energetic, and talented team.

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Preventative Maintenance – Performing routine maintenance to ensure equipment stays functional and reliable. Utilizing your skills to identify potential issues to prevent breakdowns, and interruptions to the bakery

  • Equipment Breakdown and Repairs - Troubleshooting high speed machines and equipment, as well as other repairs pertaining to the bakery. Often working side by side with an Electrician to identify issues and make necessary repairs and improvements

  • Following Best Practices – Understanding, following and enforcing all established safety, health, quality, and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices

    YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

    Required:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Sitting, standing, walking, lifting (50 lbs) and / or repetitive tasks throughout the day

  • Previous experience as a mechanic in a manufacturing setting

  • Experience in troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment

    Bonus Points:

  • Previous experience in Food Manufacturing

  • Active Journeyman card

  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems

  • Previous welding experience

  • Sense of humor & love for Pop-Tarts
