Kellogg Senior Manager, Shopper Insights & Analytics - Ready To Eat Cereal in Battle Creek, Michigan

In the Senior Manager, Shopper Insights & Analytics role, you will act as a strategic business partner across cereal brand commercial teams to provide shopper, channel, and account-level insights for our top customers. Consumers and Shoppers are at the heart of everything we create!

As a trusted Shopper Insights expert, you will play a pivotal role in helping to drive stronger understanding of the evolving Shopper Journey to guide our transformation to meet our Shoppers where they are. With your strong understanding of consumer and shopper needs, you will be able to bring our shoppers to life in compelling ways, identify shopper conversion opportunities, and assist with the development of marketing and sales initiatives. HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Collaboration is Key – You will actively engage with multiple cross-functional stakeholders to identify and prioritize key business issues and translate them into strategic learning plans to drive breakthrough strategies. You will work closely with the Shopper Insights centralized team in order to create synergies and uncover cereal-specific opportunities. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to commercialize and democratize shopper learnings across the organization.

New Ideas Welcome! – Did a light bulb just go off? Tell us more! You will lead the development and evaluation of new ideas with dependable and insightful tools to provide teams with a strong understanding of shopper potential for our innovative ideas. You will help retail partners evolve the cereal/breakfast aisle, helping to modernize and improve the cereal shopping experience.

Analytics Drive Actions – You will tell compelling stories with insights curated from disparate data sources (existing, syndicated, POS, and custom research) and marketplace trends, identifying channel and retailer-specific opportunities, and influencing stakeholder actions to grow the cereal category and increase Kellogg share.

Top-notch Tools – You will partner with key vendors to continually refine and improve our shopper discovery solutions.

We are looking to you to help elevate the impact of the Insights & Analytics function on the business by challenging the status quo, providing deep, behavior-based shopper insights, and ensuring research efforts are focused on commercial applicability/impact.

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field with extensive experience in customer and shopper insights, inclusive of CPG insights/research experience

  • Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders to understand their needs, identify and prioritize key issues, and translate them into strategic learning plans with clear objectives and methodologies/tools to answer specific business needs

  • Being able to frame and re-frame business questions from stakeholders and gain alignment- to ensure the right questions are being addressed- and the answers are commercially actionable

  • Demonstrated ability to combine shopper & marketplace trends with custom research to produce cohesive stories with actionable insights that create opportunities and stakeholder action

  • Expert understanding of and proven ability to tell a clear and compelling story using Syndicated Data and analytics (IRI, Nielsen, etc.) in addition to other research tools. Prior experience with retailer shopper databases such as 84.51 or self-service shopper platforms such as Numerator also a plus

  • Proven track record of retailer influence, partnership, and relationship building

  • Self-starter who holds themselves and their team accountable for performance- while still able to keep it fun!

  • Achievement-driven with a focus on results and business performance, even when it means pushing back and respectfully challenging the status quo

  • Creative strategic thinker and problem solver, accustomed to working collaboratively in teams

  • Strong communication skills- as an active listener and skilled integrator

  • Proficiency working in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

    Bonus Points:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in market research, marketing, business management, or related field
