Kellogg Food Innovation Research & Development Chef in Battle Creek, Michigan
As Food Innovation Research & Development Chef, you will be responsible for co-producing irresistible foods that help establish Gold Standards within the Kellogg brand portfolio. Reporting to the Culinary Innovation Manager, you will work collaboratively with internal global Research, Quality, Nutrition, and Technology, Marketing, suppliers, co-packers, and Design Houses to develop new foods with incredible taste and a unique Kellogg ‘wow factor.’ If you’re an extremely curious chef with a desire to understand and work in a scientific food environment, we want to hear from you!

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Cooking + Food Reviews – Create and produce foods under the direction of the Culinary Innovation Manager and Culinary Director in accordance with Design Briefs; presenting, recording, and re-engineering. Assist in the procurement, presentation, and review of foods that represent competitive set, adjacencies, and exploratory ingredients to define a specific category of food.
Gold Standard Food Development – Assist in the development of ‘gold standards’ for new food product development including helping development teams with culinary-inspired refinement of project foods all while establishing and enforcing Standard Operating Procedures set by leadership. General kitchen support inclusive of clean-up.
Procurement of Inventory - Establishes, inventories, augments a standard pantry list, procuring items as necessary and ensuring a minimum inventory amount is always on hand. Manage and prepare foods for special events inclusive of writing menus, shopping, and equipment lists.
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
Culinary School graduate (AOS or BA)
Experience working in a high -end professional kitchen, ideally 1-2 years
A Foodie who loves to try new foods from different cultures
Additional Affiliations – Member of the Research Chefs Association in good standing with a desire to achieve their Culinology Certification; Possible member of regional chef organizations
